Dear Friend, We don’t want to spam you but we would be very happy if you give our new CD a listen. The creation of Waechter des Lichts was a long and hard process. It has always been the fusion of fantastic stories with expressive music that distinguished Flaming Bess from other bands. However, for Waechter des Lichts, we wanted to carry our music one step farther into the unknown, to let it resonate in the next sphere. The council of bards spent aeons on deciding which winding path we were to take. Musically, we wanted to travel back to where our roots lay – to the timeless sound of progressive rock music – however, without losing the modern sound and feeling of Finstere Sonne. On a narrative level, we wanted to direct our gaze away from picturesque dreamscapes, and take you with us into the land of sky castles and golden cities. The path is set before you – if you care to join us on our adventurous journey! In six chapters and thirteen songs, we unfold once more the tale of the legendary goddess of light and her heroic bridegroom … and yet, the protagonist of this epic is not a godlike hero, but a mere mortal. Writing the music was a huge challenge. There were no projects we could refer to; the combination of the Flaming Bess style and an audio drama was a novelty to all of us. After two and a half years and oceans of shed sweat and demon blood, we were finally able to realize our vision with the help of friendly spirits from Australia, America and Europe which we found at MI7 com! Many thanks go to everyone involved Any comment of you is very welcome and in case you can’t resist and like what you hear you can buy some of our music at our homepage http://flaming-bess.de or download some mp3’s at http://www.musicload.de |

The new Flaming Bess album is great. I like the contrast between the retro (and I mean that in a positive way) concept and their modern take on progressive rock. Very unique. And the songs, the performances and the production are of a very high standard. And when you're not into the spoken word bits, you can always skip those and still have a splendid album. |
