MI7 seems to have adopted a more low profile approach with the new contest, because there it is without any further announcement (which is probably a good thing after the madness of the previous one). But what I don't get is why the best produced song will win this nice toy. Shouldn't that be the worst produced song? Because he/she/they is/are the most in need of such a fine piece of equipment. ;-)

Anyway, I will let this one pass and wait for the contest for The Best (or Worst) Song Written By Subliminal.

We did send out a newsdesk to all our members that are on the list and we have it on the front page.

Who would want to listen and vote for the worst produced song? ;)

Well, I do not fully agree...
Isn't it the most deserving sound engineer the one who can produce something good out of bad hardware? Wouldn't he be then the best to take the full advantage of such new piece of equipment into his "studio"?
And if you are the lucky owner of an SSL desk (or other brands ;)) equipment at home, then you wouldn't really "need" to participate in such a contest... ;) (Yeah, right. I am a bit over-exaggerating here... ;))

But then you should take the quality of the hardware used into consideration. And if you can make something sound good without fancy equipment then you don't need it. ;-)

Finally you get it. That's why the worst produced song should have won. But it's too late for that anyway, so I hope that some good soul has won it.

I still have ot received the Duende Mini from MI7 but the contest ended only 3,5 months ago.

You're kidding, aren't you? Man, that really sucks. It makes you wonder if The Cedars have been to the Real World Studios already...;-)

And yes, the site is at times awfully slow. Very frustrating.

I'm Sven Bornemark. I work for MI7 and this is my first entry in this forum.

Mindmovie, it took ages for you to get your prize, but now you've got it. I hope it performs well in your studio.

The Cedars have not yet settled on a recording date, because there are a lot of logistics and booking dates to consider.
