LYON, Rhône-Alpes France
I was born in Lyon (France) in 1953, and I started studying the piano on my own at 16. As I played the piano for only eight years I have been invited twice by the Maestro Georgy Cziffra who let me play some of my compositions at Saint Frambourg, Senlis in front of a large audience. Georgy Cziffra complimented my work with those words""A unique style that I find very personal and captivating" and recommanded me to Suzy Bossard winner of the first international Cziffra award and professor at the CNSMD of Lyon.
My early interests led me to explore a wide range of musical genres including rock'n'roll, blues, jazz, and classical. I finally dedicated myself exclusively to my own personal style. My compositions are primarily organized around the theme of personnal developpement.
Albums: Water, sky and light (1991), Childish games (1997), Per aspera ad astra (2005).
An original musical conception
I am a musician of emotion rather than theory, of movement rather than concept. I seek fluidity rather than structure. I seek light and eternity instead of power. I have chosen to compose music that creates harmony, that is pleasant and relaxing to listen to and yet that has depth in its conception. That is why working with sonorities and touch is very important. I have had to develop a piano technique quite different from the traditional ones in order to avoid too much percussion of the keyboard. The result is a full and round sound."
