my biography

Coast to Coast is a fluid partnership of Frank Carter , Cameron Lasswell, and Jeff Grant ( AKA Loveshadow )

Called, `Coast to Coast' for the simple reason that they reside in California, New York, and the UK, with roughly 6500 miles between them.

Lasswell and Grant met online over two years ago after independently entering into the online remix communities.

Their mutual respect for a wide range of artists, genres and music production led to the begginning of a fluid partnership, simply trying out new things and writing whatever takes their fancy.

Frank Carter ( AKA Songboy ) is well known to the CC mixter community, where his powerful soul acapellas have been remixed extensively.

The tracks here are produced by Lasswell and Loveshadow and have featured world wide on many blogs and podcasts.

Online mixing has its drawbacks and advantages but it means that three like-minded people can get together like this with thousands of miles between them and make music.

None of the trio have ever met and whilst you can find these mixes on other pages they are here purely to collect the works in one place album - like and enter the Realworld competition.

Loveshadow says:

` I have had a bit of success, both at MI7 and at Realword with mixing competitions. The Realworld studio is short drive for me but the chance for Cameron and Frank to come to the UK for us to meet and work on some new stuff is an attractive one. If anything this page is just another place to hear the talent that these two people possess and if it goes nowhere and remains just that, then that's good enough'

The great thing about these tunes is that they are all under Creative Commons and you can even go and get Franks acapellas and remix them yourself. You can find other works by them here on MI7

Jimeny Christmas on a soda cracker!! Are you Archie's boy? I cain't tell from the photo and truth be told there ain't a bit a family resemblance but Holy Crimeny, kin to Archie. Wail, let me be the first to say that him bein one a my five most favorite movie stars ever and, a course, the very most handsome and charmin feller ever probly in the known universe, that that don't cut no ice with me. You still got to make it on yor dang own one day at a time mister and won't get no special, preferential treatment from ol Doghouse, lessen, a course, ya can, by way of connection or somethin further my career as a handsomely paid gadfly or get me back inta the gigolo bidness, which, if you'll remember I was a leadin figure in till I lost my looks an all, otherwise I could give a rats ass you you're kin to although, like I say, Archie's a helluva callin card.

If there is one thing I learned over there at RWR then it was how to vote for great music. For this reason all my points are with you.

Very well done, folks. I hope you get the chance to meet. Your music is brilliant.

Hi guys,
a nice collection of tracks.
I voted for The Magic In Your Eyes.
I would appreciate it very much, if you would take the time to check out our "Songs of Love and Loss" project.

Wishing you all the best,

Jef

Great project - very nice to see a group of quality musicians get together.
The production is very smooth and really brings out the best in the vocals and instrumentation.
The vocals in "caught" sound just a bit blurred compared to the other tracks, but aside from that - just a great collection of tracks.
Congrats on doing this type of collaboration, and thanks for sharing these tracks.

Thanx for the honor guys, the pleasure is all mine and from what I believe a beautiful begin of a strong partnership.
And perhaps time for some surfing and get blowed away by musical tornados from coast to coast.
