my biography

As a kid, I appeared on records and television in the early sixties with my mother Gullan. Since then I've played bass, guitar and keyboards in rock bands (Press, Mobile, Savoy) and with many Swedish artists (Eva Rydberg, Siw Malmqvist, Bröderna Lagerståhl and others) and recorded backing tracks for Crazy Feet/Dave Johnson and Bosse Parnevik. I've toured Sweden with my companion Toni Rhodin as "Rhodin & Bornemark Varieté".

In 2001 I became a modern day instrument maker. My creations include Virtual Guitarist, Broomstick Bass and Groove Agent. Since 1999 I've administered a popular meeting place for Swedish musicians: VST-forum. I play mandolin and sing in Malmö Bluegrass Allstars and play guitar in my daughter Ellen's band. With Malmö based, S-F born artist Jon Strider I play lapsteel and guitar.

Today I work at MI7 headquarters in Skanör as a product specialist and general supporter. My job is to keep the wheels moving here and I'm doing my best to be an active supporter at the MI7 Community as well.

Pleased to meet you all! :)

my sounds

Title: A million years
Lynton
Description: A song about love and happiness. About being thankful to the person who has given me so much joy and friendship - and on top of that, our kids! I wrote this song while sitting on a bench outside a youth hostel in Lynton, England. I had no instrument within reach, so I had to write the song down in order to remember it until we came home one week later. When recording this tune, I decided to litter the arrangement with as many guitars as possible. They are (as they appear after the intro): Martin D-35, Fender Stratocaster XII through a Leslie, Fender 400 pedal steel, Squire Stratocaster. The rough, dusty guitar pounding away the rhythm in the second verse is a Takamine NP 35C with very old strings miked with a Shure Beta 58.
Title: Rest in your arms
Resting
Description: An instrumental piece about falling asleep. The ride cymbal plays the heartbeats of my loved one and the two electric pianos provide the warm, soft bosom where I lay my head. The flimsy, hectic ukulele reminds me of my busy day but the three note theme comes back again and again and rocks me to sleep. This song was produced over a two year period. Recorded using a miked up Rhodes electric piano, a Fender bass and acoustic and lapsteel guitars, ukulele plus a few virtual instruments. Drums were played by Andy Rhodin and engineered by Robin Rhodin.

nice songs, sven! "a million years" positively reminds me of some "good ole times" Gilbert O'Sullivan songs - "rest in your arms" simply takes one away to relax ... and have fun! keep on writing!
