my biography

Started producing music very late. Lots of project have passed by since that time and now I am more doing music for multimedia projects. I don´t know if I can call myself a "Producer" or a "Remixer" even if I had done four remixes on realworldremixed.com:

Some of my tracks here are still about 10 years old, some are from last year. Don´t worry about the english vocals sang by german singers. I still did so when it was recorded. Anyway it was a lot of fun having so much different musicians in cooperation and they all were amateurs but with a lot of will and ambition.

1. "I need you baby" see my blog for further information to this song!

2. "Not Like That-Collaboration Mix" is a collaboration work between Mindmovie and my friend and drummer Peter using a cappella samples from Frank H. Carter III aka Songboy3. See some details in the song desription.

3. "Let my dream come true" In 1997/98 I knew a DJ who liked to produce some Euro HipHop which was famous in that period. I had no idea of this kind of music, but we tried to get something on here. This track was produced with a EMU 6400, a few synths and an ATARI ST 2. The good old times!

4. "Where is George D.?" George Duke was one of my first influences in RnB-Funk etc music. This track was produced in 2002 with a little help from R.Nitz (Git and E-Bass).
I tried to play a solo like G.Duke would probably have done it(not really! :-))Sorry Mr.Duke!

5. "Music for Animation1" was produced for a little architecture based animation. This is what I am doing now mostly.

Title: Without pain

Description: Another remix from the ccmixter.org site. I felt inspired by an "guitarish E-piano" sample of duckett (still a member here) of another artist who is called "Radiotimes" and the tremendous vocals of Anchor Mejans ("Pretty) who is a new member here on MI7 and also on ccmixter. You should visit their profiles and have a listen on theit various, surprising and extraordinary tunes. This track is dedicated to my mother.

Description: A ten year old pella of my former productions, which was made first for three rappers. I didn´t had to change the tempo, but had to pitch the core track for one halftone. Added some percussion, strings and e-piano. The bass was played by my former musical mate José Fernandez and he did a great job!! And of course added the fantastic vocals of Mr. Frank H. Carter III from his song "Magic in your eyes" which was originally posted on www.ccmixter.org. Please visit Frank H. Carter´s III profile here at MI7 to say a hello or something. http://community2.mi7.com/profile/9268

Description: A collaboration of Mindmovie, my friend and drummer Peter and myself, originally done for ccmixter.org. You can watch it here: http://ccmixter.org/media/files/TheJoe/12218 You can visit Mindmovie here on this site: http://community.mi7.com/profile/5503 Frank Carter III aka Songboy3 is member too at MI7: http://community.mi7.com/profile/9268 Thank you Mindmovie for this wonderful collaboration and for your awesome guitar and Slapbass tracks. Thanks Peter for all your drumming work that you have done for me and especially on this track. It was a pleasure to work with you!

Hello dear friend. On December 17th I will release my first Solo album “Mindmovie- An Ocean Of Dreams”. If you like progressive rock music, like Pink Floyd, Camel, Alan Parsons or Joe Satriani and if you like guitar orientated rock songs I would be very very happy if you would take the time to visit my page listen to some of the songs and leave me a comment.
The album will be available in the major download stores and can also be ordered
as a limited edition double album through http://www.flaming-bess.de in case you dig my stuff.
Have a great weekend and a wonderful Christmas.

Thanks for the comment. By the way, you seem to have grown younger or am I just imagining?

Without pain is very professionally produced and sounds so good. Nice vocal effects! Kind of clever arrangement.

It would actually be very interesting to hear more of your music for multimedia. But there seems to be this 5 track restriction :-( :-(

Hi my good friend, I was very surprised today that my song has won the contest, I am very happy about this and like to thank everybody who has voted for the song.
All the best to you and some special greetings from my wife to you. She was very happy with the birthday card.
I will soon start to work on your beautiful piano piece. Can't wait doing something with this beautiful piece of art.
Truly yours

Such good quality music here, and I mean both the content and the production. Here are impressions of some of the tracks:

Where is George D. funks like an animal and with a nice keyboard solo too. You seem to know this style very well. Liked it a lot.

Music for animation1 is very effective with strong atmosphere. I actually really hoped it would have continued longer.

I'll be back later!

I am happy that my good friend TheJoe has left a comment about my new song. You know I really trust Michel's and your taste a lot. So if both of you say it's ok. well than it was worth to work on it again. I tried to make it heavy but not dark and agressive like so many songs of todays bands sound so dark. So yes - would love the sun to come back today. It's raining again (but that was also a good song from Supertramp and very happy)

Judging by what I have heard so far you have camouflaged your lack of cubase knowledge very well. I once heard a mix of someone who had made some odd mixing decisions which really didn't make any sense, not even to his teachers, but it sounded great.

Hi Joe,

Man, that must be the quickest reaction I have ever got. And then such a nice one. Thanks for that!

So what about you? Why haven't you entered the contest? As you have probably already read, I will wait for the Best Song Written By Subliminal contest. And rest assured that I will be the first (and most probably the last) one to enter that contest. ;-)

Best wishes,

Michel.

I don't know about 'respected', but you're most welcome. Keep the good music coming.

Hey Joe,

I had to listen to this one (Without Pain) a second time, but then on headphones instead of those crappy notebook speakers. Not the kind of backing I would have thought to go well with Anchor's voice, but you pulled it off very very well. Respect!

Best wishes,

Michel.

Hi Joe,

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and the kind words.

The church bells are from a Kontakt 2(?) instrument called New Years Eve (or so I believe). I also used it at the end of my December remix, so I thought that it would be a nice idea to open January with it. I have to admit that I used drum and guitar loops for this song. Partly because I ran out of ideas and partly because they seemed to fit nicely. And yes, I am very lucky that Edwin is always willing to play some lead guitar in my songs when asked. He is a good guitar player and an even better songwriter. But unfortunately, nowadays he cannot find the motivation / creativity anymore to write music himself.

Best wishes,

Michel.

Hello Joe,

By the way, did you check out NI's free Kore Player?

Best wishes,

Michel.

Hey friend - your Solo is awesome - no need to think it should have been played better !
member image Subliminal | about 1 year ago
Hi Joe,

I'm still on Absynth 3. I have skipped all upgrades from Komplete 2. It's great stuff, but pretty expensive when you have to follow all upgrades.

The new tracks on ccmixter are only unfinished pieces that I have added for DJ Rkod's The CCMixter Collective project. I am planning on adding the full version of my January remix this week.

Best wishes,

Michel.

Hi my friend, thanks a lot for your very very nice words about my new songs. I am really honoured by the fact that a person like you with all your skills finds so nice words about my music. Isn't it amazing how music can bring people together my friend ?
That's what it is all about and I can't wait hearing you playing some of your cool stuff on "BLondie's Return"

Amazing stuff. Like it originally was written and performed this way. The music and the vocals fit together perfectly. Cool to the max!

I need you baby is a fantastic song TheJoe. to me it represents an unbeliebable high quality standard. the arrangement fits perfectly to the voice of FCIII and it does not sound as being 10 years old at all. A gibg thumbs up and my full respect mate. Fantastic
