my biography

Experimental guitarist. Electronic Improvisor.
Non-volitional\Subconscious activities...My work consists mainly of proccesed guitar. Most tracks are multitracked guitar solo. I have made all my percussive elements from guitar.

Colab has kindly done some re-mixes of two of my tracks "Exolsceleton Landslide" and "Lost Prologue".
You can check them out at his page: http://community.mi7.com/profile/7695

my sounds

Title: Solemdrone
Bensphotosegypt594_1_
Description: Layers of distorted guitar breaking away to acoustic guitar. Experiment in space and dimension. Again; mp3=bad, LOUD=good.
Title: Itch
Cbs3
Description: minimalist Post_rock'ish guitar building up noise and destroying itself. Unfortunatley the mp3 bit rate i had to use has destroyed some top-end definition which is vital for this track to work. Loud is best to get the phase difference, crush your head feeling.
Title: Exoskeleton Landslide
Cbs_improvisation2
Description: Dark. Slow broken beats with increasing intensity developing a dense field of drones.
Title: Because it Became Cold
Photo194
Description: Electro rock. Morphing guitars.
Title: Lost Prologue or Prolog
Photo090
Description: Slow acoustic drone. Piano. Electronics. Improvisation.

my influences

Non-volitional\Subconscious activities... Influence: Murcof, Because of Ghosts, Whiskey Town, Glitch, Allesandro Stefana, XXL, Larsen.

Hey Blake,

What a massive track. I really like the way the song takes you on a journey through the different landscapes. More of that, please!

Best regards,

Michel.

Nice! Itch is very atmospheric...

Yes ... now you`re getting there. Very nice rhythmic elements you`ve put into the Itch-track. Gives me that dreamy feeling and keeps the attention focused while the guitar gently ... weeps?
Those six minutes sweeps past like seconds.
Great work.

I like your new track real well, the guitars just keep growing until they seem to be on fire.

Alright, I'm officially spamming your page now, but it can't be helped.

The new version of "itch" is definitely an improvement. The glitchy drums work well with the guitars and hold their own even when it's mostly noise. I'm not sure how you pulled it off, but the new glitchy drums sound great with the guitar as it builds up. It drags your down, down, down into darkness, and pulls back up just in the last moment. Very good.

6 minutes, though? For you, that's practically a _radio edit_. :)

great to hear you doing all this atmospheric sounds on itch just by using your guitars. love the reversed bits and I agree with collab - there is definitely some space to add some rhythmic elements in the songs which may bring it to another level ? Great Work Mate !!!!!

Hello Blake,

The rhythm really adds something to the song, making something which was already great even better.

Best wishes,

Michel.

Nice track Blake ... it is building up very fine, but I also have to agree with you that some sort of rhythmic element could enhance it further ... but it maybe easier said than done to choose the right approach.

Blake - one hell of a good job on "itch". The guitar processing is top notch, and the build-up is great.

Keep us posted on how it develops - I agree that there's room for some rhythmic elements - maybe something minimal/deep bass range?

Thanks again for the opportunity to work with your tracks. It's been a real pleasure both times.

Hi Blake,

I love the way Itch develops, but I have to agree that it could do with some rhythmic elements, especially halfway through the song. But it sounds great already.

And a very good collaboration with Colab & Jenny.

Best wishes,

Michel.

Hi there Blake, thank you for friendship.
Love your sounds, and how you getting them!
We love sampling and re-sampling as well, bought our first EMU e-64 in 1996 and never looked back, wonderful piece of equipment.
Love your music, "Exoskeleton Landslide" is brilliant.
All the best in 2008!

The "exoskeleton landslide" has a evokes images of arthropods in the hot desert. Overall it's pretty sweet, though it is my opinion that some raw hand-crafted recordings would nicely complement digital mood, for example the sound of a slowly deflating balloon would fit rather nicely in some places.

Blake - just a quick note to let you know that I posted the "exoskeleton" remix on my page, and to thank you publicly for the opportunity to work on it. It was a real pleasure.
