What I love the most in music is composing.
I play piano and keyboard and I write all my compositions in Logic Studio. I play some of the parts on my keyboard, but often I compose directly in the score or matrix editor of the sequencer.
I am try to get deeper and deeper into arranging and programming for virtual orchestra. I use the Vienna Symphonic Library, Halion Symphonic Orchestra and some East West libraries for that.
I am now recording songs with Ann Van Canegem, a delightfull and talented vocalist, who really brings life and emotion into my music.
Ann performs with her blues/jazz band Red Rooster, and with other jazz players.

I am also an experienced illustrator/graphic designer (actually that's what I do to earn a living...). If someone needs graphic designs for cd-covers etc... feel free to contact me!

Part II: Lament for the path of war.: Description: Green fields and countless graves Witness in silence The broken dreams Of a son, a father, a mother, a daughter, brother or sister... The path of war Offers the road to glory But often ends here A place where dreams are buried... This part starts with weeping voices, lamenting the violent confrontation to come. Instruments argue with each other and the drums of war start to sound, taking us to the violence and confusion of the battlefield. Suddenly this all stops for the soldier who is killed, leaving his unfulfilled life and dreams on the battlefield... and also those of his family and loved ones.... Vocals: Artie Q / Electric Guitar: Mindmovie
Title: True Love: Description: True Love...is about these little moments when you look into the eyes of your lover and realise that this is the person that makes you truly happy, and that you are blessed with the love of your life.
Title: When There's No Hope: Description: I have known a few people in my life who have committed suicide or tried to. Some of them were mere acquaintances, but sometimes they were close. You are left with a mix of feelings: shock, regret, grief, anger,... and with the eternal question if you could have done something to prevent it. This is what this song is about. Originally I wrote this song for a soprano with a high and angelic voice. I have now transposed the song down for Ann and I have rewritten it almost completely. I introduced a new main theme for the violin, and made the arrangement for the verses sound more restless and uneasy. The song ends with a lament for the deceased, based on vocal improvisations by Ann. Many thanks to our myspace friend Gareth Balch for helping us out with the lyrics, and providing us with numerous tips to make them stronger and clearer. Lyrics are important in our music, and if your mother language is not english, it is often very difficult to know the connotations of some words. Gareth was so kind to help us to put more meaning in fewer words.
Title: Innocence: Description: This rather short song is about the final ending of a relationship. A song about sorrow, regret and shame. Ann sings with a frailty as you have never heard before...
Title: In The Light Of The Sun: Description: “In The Light Of The Sun” is a song that is very dear to me. The song is about the passing of time, and how insignificant a human life is compared to cosmic scales. I wrote the basic melody a long time ago (in human terms at least...) on my very first piano when I was about seventeen. Over the years I kept playing this piano tune and a few years ago I turned it into this song. Like all my songs it has a certain sadness in it, although I don’t consider it as a sad song. It is more a song about acceptance, letting go and humility. It begins with a person who tries to hold on to a lost loved one, smelling the fading scent in his clothes and dwelling into her memories. But, eventually - like everything - the scent will fade away. The memories of our memories will dissolve into time, “and all that we are is a speck of dust dancing in the light of the sun”. While I wrote this song I often had the image of particles of dust dancing in the sunlight shining through an attic window. I wrote the backbone of this song with the guitars, harp and vibraphone ticking away time like a clockwork. Over this I wrote a waltz, like the dancing particles of dust in the light of the sun. Again, Ann did a great job on the vocals and her voice makes the song shine like a sun...

But maybe I am influenced the most by my lovely wife, Karin Wauters, a talented ceramist.

This is some of the best music I have heard in a long time and I congratulate you sincerely. Ann's vocals are simply exquisite; she reminds me of a young Cleo Laine with expression and a haunting quality that is very moving and conveys the message of the song both linguistically and emotionally. Your handling of the orchestral backing is professional, sympathetic and expressive using a subtle interweaving of voices and textures that hold the vocal up and support it without competing with it. I am very impressed and really like your work. When I get to the recording stage of The Sad Man project I would love to invite Ann to contribute a vocal to one of the songs if she would be willing to do so. Best wishes to you both from Madrid. Long time not see ya. Were you creating a new song of the new series wiith my Bro' ArtieQ ??? Now I like " Only the wind... " very much. Because finally I could hear and understand what ArtieQ said a part. I think he said in your poem, " too many, too young have died... Now only the wind is whispering.... ". And at first, please let me say I'm sorry, because your family member's situation and my situation is maybe very different. Actually I have ever suicided by myself, cut my wrists depth and Jumped from 5th floor... . .. . It was the cause of Hard drags... .
It was when I 20 years old. Sorry, I can't say any words now. If you are interested in my autobiography also if you have a Japanese translator friend I will send you the book.

I think you can love and get and share to other people by with your creating the music now!
