my biography

Mindmovie has been playing in various bands for almost a lifetime. He started out as a guitarist, and still loves this instrument for all it has to offer. Yet time never stops, and much has changed since Mindmovie laid hands on his first second-hand six-string. Today, his main focus is more on the production and composition of all kinds of electronic, pop and rock music, and the sounds of his guitar have become just one ingredient to be added to a new tune, albeit a very special one. Apart from his work as a composer, Mindmovie is currently involved in two band projects, the first of which is Flaming Bess, a progressive rock band founded in the late 70s. So far, they have released five albums:

Tanz der Götter (1979),
Verlorene Welt (1981),
Fata Morgana (1996),
Black Sun (2005), and their latest effort,

Wächter des Lichts (2008).

And now it's time to release his first Solo Record

Mindmovie’s second project is called Wi:Re. Here, he is free to experiment and juggle with electronic beats, hip hop, funk and jazz which add up to an exciting and fun mix. The main songwriters of Wi:Re are Mindmovie himself and Claas Reimer, who is also part of the My Space community. An album has yet to be released.

Title: A Space based Utopia (revisited 2008): Description: added some guitars and bass to the original remix I did using samples of DJ RKod. It's now probably more a rock song than it was previously but I always felt that something was missing ? so here we go again - hope you will like the new version and thanks again to DJ Rkod for allowing me to use his samples !

I like how it's not just about the main solo-instrument, even though it's largely instrumental. The melody and accompaniment go hand-in-hand very well, and the whole is produced very nicely, resulting in some great sounding and very tasteful music.

I'm listening to the tracks you've uploaded that is on the "An ocean of dreams" album.
You've done a great work! The flute intro and ending of "A new kind of man" is astonishing and the accoustic guitar in "Mekon peppers" blends in perfeclty. These comments are only a few examples on how good your work is, you've done a great job with these three tracks. I like them all. You are great at electric guitar my friend, awesone. Keep up the good work! I hope the seeling of the album goes great.

I must also say that the "Theme for an imaginary Mindmovie" is also astonishing. You're dreamlike at the electric guitar.

since Rene moved to Haarlem, time obviously has not been on my side, music-wise. I will change that next year, I promise. I still have contact with Rene and also Bert Wolters (Nepugo90) dropped by to see if we can work a little together.

Great music with excellent guitar playing which is a real trademark of yours. I enjoyed the strong rock feel with progressive elements. And sometimes it reaches those magical moments when the music starts to fly. I liked most A new kind of man.

great stuff!! centainly takes me to my prog rock days. As usual .. the production quality is suberb, and all the songs are strong.. a fine mix of imagination and craft. Great rhythm on 'secret lies'.. really drives the song; 'A new kind of man' is probably my favourite at the moment.
I must also say that the artwork is the equal of the songs .. congratulations my friend. A noble work.
