my biography

I've been playing on and off since I was 15.
I really enjoy creating music. I just wish I had more time to really dedicate myself to it.

I play all of the instruments you hear with the exception of the drums.

my sounds

Title: The Cave
P1010160
Description: Instrumental that reminds me of a journey into a very big deep cave.
Title: Inside The Rain
Rain
Description: Inside the rain is life. I don't know why but I think falling rain when I listen to this. This song is an old guitar track I did with some new additions. Bass and Piano.
Title: Bloodlines
Pachecco1-1_copy
Description: Re-worked with shorter beginning and some other alterations.
Title: Surround Me
Fenderhead
Description: Latest creation March 2007. Called it Surround Me because I did a DTS version of it and didn't know what else to call it..ha!

Hello John,

Oh wow, I really like the new piece. You have a geat guitar sound. The solo tells a story, as all solos should do, in stead of freaking around. My compliments.

Regards,

Michel.

Hi John,

Thanks for listening and being so enthusiastic about my guitar work. It actually needs a lot of reconsideration. They were first takes, spontaneous improvisations. But I had much fun in doing them. First takes breathe a kind of freedom that is easily lost when you start polishing them up (which however is necessary sometimes).
I like your 'Cave'. You got some nice guitar work here yourself. Also listened to the other tunes (again). They are all very pleasant to listen to. I particularly like your intros. My favourite, as a rounded composition is 'Inside the Rain'. I don't know how it sounded without the piano, but the piano sounds wonderful with the guitar.

Bye for now, best wishes and keep me informed,
Richard

New Tune...CRANK IT UP! :)

Acronyize? It has a nice ring to it. Anyway, don't worry. You can compare my music with any KC line-up anytime.

Hey John,

I was not much older when I saw King Crimson, but that was with the double trio line-up in the mid-nineties. ;-)

Anyway, thanks for your kind words. Funny these KC references, because I was aiming for a Nine Inch Nails feel. I guess it's the distorted vocals.

The new song sounds already pretty good to me. A nice laid-back atmosphere. I like it a lot.

Regards,

Michel.

Hello John,

Most of the times I only use the vocal tracks and try to write my own songs around them, mostly using soft synths and samplers, and occasionally some samples and loops. I intend to 'remix' all of Calendar Girl's songs and release that as an album to the internet.

More original material can be found on my own website. But then again, where does originality end and 'remixing' begin?

Best wishes,

Michel.

Hi John,

A good atmosphere in your new track. I can imagine why you think of falling rain while listening to it. I also listened to the reworked version of Bloodlines. I still love that track.

Best wishes,

Michel.

Hey!
Nice influences! With that kind of taste you might like to tjeck out our song Rise. Might work for you. Maybe you'll even throw in a vote... :)

Like your work on the guitar, by the way!

Hello Meno,
Your re-worked version of Bloodlines is beautifull!
member image Fireman | about 1 year ago
Can`t honestly tell exactly how the first version was, only know I liked it ... and I can say the same about the new one. The intro feels just right though. Wonder how you get those special sounds out of your guitar.
Very smooth ... great work.

Hi Meno,

nice music. Your style reminds me of music from the Windham Hill label. Very atmospheric.
I voted for Bloodlines.
