my biography

Hi!

For me, the melody is the most important thing in a song, so I always struggle to write the perfect one. The second thing is the chords. Very often I build the vers in minor and the refrain in major. I also try to create some "sickness" in some part of the song.

Before I record anything I always write the song and the lyrics first. And I always do It on my acoustic guitar.

I´m not very fond of producing and mixing, but I think I have learned something over the years. I have written songs for about 15 years now. And I have a publisher (Peermusic) which I wrote a contract with 1996.

WHERE DO WE GO: I always love this song when I play it, Chilly. Just enough 70s rock to make it powerful; just enough 70s pop to be catchy regardless of the arrangement style. The harmonies on "Oh my love" are, as always, beautiful. The guitar reminds me of Guns'n'Roses. :-)

EVERYDAY: I have to agree with My Mi7 Collabs that this song is very 60s influenced and yet .. it's not dated. It's not as easy as people think to write a song that harkens back to another decade that sounds fresh.

PLAYGROUNDS FOR MY MIND: I love the chord progression on this song, Chilly. And you have such chillingly refreshing and tight vocal arrangements. If there was something I would add to this song it would be orchestral strings as opposed to the single string you chose so you create a wall of strings to contrast the wall of vocals harmonies you have woven into this song.

"Everyday" is a catchy tune. Very sixties ... intentional? Woke up this morning with it in my head. Powerful, eh ...? That is, to inhabit another's mindspace, albeit for a short while.

Hi Chilly,
I read your comments on the ongoing contest (which 'must be a joke,' as you put it) at Raven's page. I totally agree with you. But besides being a joke, it invites competitors to be dishonest about their judgement of others; they might even not give their vote to others at all. Music should be judged by impartial jurors. Whether jurors can be absolutely impartial is an interesting question, but now it is an invitation for all kinds of dishonesty. I myself haven't withdrawn my songs from the contest, but I have lost keen interest and I understand your actions completely.

Hej igen. Idag lyckades jag komma ända in till din profil (efter många om och men) och jag lyckades lyssna ca. 1 minut på Vattensängslåten sen låste sig hela sidan och allt blev tyst. (De borde skaffa en bättre server.) Det jag hann höra lät mycket bra, härlig röst hade hon som sjöng också.
