Title: The Thief - 2007
07licht-mi7
Description: Since March 2007 we have now finalised our new Fantasy story - a breathtaking adventure of - the godess of light and Arkana. At least we think that this story is by far the best Episode we have ever written for a record. About 16 new songs will make it on the record - we have composed more than 40 for the album in total but we wanted to only take the best of the best. We are right now finishing the overdubs and vocal parts. Again we will have a couple of great guest musicians on the album. "Der Dieb" (the thief) will become our starter song and is not mixed now. Enjoy our quality for you ! Have fun! We hope you enjoy your stay !
Title: Endless River - 2005
2005fb-cover-fs
Description: F.B. still use their unique take on progressive rock, and employ modern instrumentation. The album ‘Black Sun’ opens with a two minute narration which leads to the fantastic instrumental ‘Journey Into Light’. Groups new member DJ-Claas (MI7 - Claasvader) brings new beats that have a techno feel. 'Endless river' has that retro hip feel that all the cool DJ’s are striving to create for their lounge/club acts and finishs ‘Chapter 1’ in fine fashion with some great lounge-like modern instrumentals. 2 CD Box with english and german spoken versions and lots of pix and vids. Thomas Hayes wrote: "I wish the group had sent me the German version, as I appreciate the native tongue much more (plus the German language adds an air of mystery to non-speakers)".
Title: African Dreams - 1996
1996fb-cover-fm
Description: This song is another part of the groups long journey into the kingdom of fantasy to the godess of light. Close your eyes, feel and see our "mindmovies". The record is called "Fata Morgana" and available as a special edition on CD.
Title: Mythos - 1981
1981fb-cover-vw
Description: After the big success of "Tanz der Goetter" we signed a contract with Polydor - one of the big German Labels ever. The record is called "Verlorene Welt" (Lost world) and today available on CD with bonus tracks and vids. Mythos is the first song from this album and managed to stay 8 weeks in the Top 10 Charts. One of the best Guitarplayers from our scene and since this time my close friend Achim (MI7 - Mindmovie) appears for his first record debut and became a band member with big influence in future.
Title: Tanz der Goetter - 1979
1979fb-cover-tdg
Description: Tanz der Goetter is the group's debut album - this is the instrumental title song. For 16 weeks it was in the German Top 10 Charts and went up to No.2. Only Pink Floyds "The wall" was No.1 at this time. Flaming Bess was a trio of keyboards, drums and bass/guitar, aided by a number of guests on spoken word and other instruments. There were bunches of independent artists in Germany in the late 70s/early 80s creating music of a symphonic/progressive rock nature. Flaming Bess are perhaps one of the most obscure of this school of music, and this, their debut, is available on CD format nowadays. This is definitely one for fans of Camel and Piktors-period Anyone's Daughter and remains one of the better albums of the style and era.

my influences

in the 60s it was the german "beat club" tv-series with lots of good groups mostly from england. zappa, family, pink floyd, genesis, manfred mann, camel and many other have been our top bands during the 70s. nowadays i am open to every kind of music. massive attack, kruder dorfmeister etc. and at the moment porcupine tree concerts take me back to my prog-rock roots again.

Hey, Arkana.
Waechter Des Lichts arrived yesterday morning. Had it on headphones ever since. Congratulations. Nice job, my man. It is a complex piece of music and I know I'll be spending a lot more time with "you" in the 'phones over the coming month. 8—) Thanks. Artie Q

Now I'm here again listening to "The thief" :) I like it. It's mystical and very good. I wrote earlier that progressive rock isn't among my favourite music genres, but I've changed my mind. I like this track very much. Great work!

Hi Arkana, I liked "Tanz der Götter", but what I miss from todays point of view is a bit more bass in bass guitar and stronger bit. But any way I liked very much.

Greetings from Potsdam ;-)

Hi Arkana, I've checked the tracks you've uploaded. Progressive rock is not among my favourite music genres, but that's no hindrance to give comments. According to me, your work toghether in the group is very very good. Good levels and amounts of the leading instruments and nice rythms. I especially like the beginning of the track "The thief".
Good work!

Have a nice day and take care

Powerful stuff - love the intensity and the "Thickness" of the guitars on top of all that percussion (in The Thief) - dug the beats in Endless River too -
