my biography

Cloudmachine is the band of Dutch singer-songwriter Ruud Houweling. When he was 12 years old he watched Ray Davies of theThe Kinks on TV and felt lightning strike. One year later he formed his first band. After graduating from the Academy of Arts & Design in Rotterdam he was signed as a solo artist by Columbia Records/Sony Music at the age of 25. Sony Music didn't give Ruud time to grow on their label and Ruud took a break from the music scene. He had to find his true voice and worked on the right sound. Then he starts Cloudmachine.
He meets drummer Michiel van Zundert and keyboard player Marco Kuypers, guitarplayer Richard Lagerweij and bassplayer Ray Edgar Duyns. In the meantime Ruud worked on & wrote music for various other projects. He wrote songs and leader music for Dutch national tv.

The first single Circus Animals gets lots of airplay on national station 3FM. The debut album released by Coast To Coast gets excellent reviews from the Dutch music press. The band did many shows around the country and on radioshows. The critically acclaimed second album Hum Of Life is realeased in oktober 2006 and brings many new opportunities. The band plays venues such as the famous Paradiso in Amsterdam, 013, Patronaat, P3 and gets plenty of airplay. They appear in many live radio shows and they promote the album around the country. The song I'm Not Alone But I Miss You was used by national station 3FM to launch Serious Talent, their talent program.

The album Hum Of Life is sold in stores in the Benelux and available through the import channels around the world. It's also available in many digital stores around the world such as the iTunes Music Store, LastFM and BlastMyMusic.

Ik kom even langs om te zeggen dat ik weer eens naar jullie muziek ben gaan luisteren om te stemmen. 'When You Feel' is mijn favoriet, maar ik heb ook voor de andere twee songs gestemd. Ik hoop dat jullie ook voor mij willen stemmen. Zou ik geweldig vinden. Bedankt alvast!

Maybe I`m just fooling myself but I actually think I can hear a little bit of Kinks harmonies in your songs (I love the Kinks). Your music is very professional and well balanced. "When you feel" is my favorite.
