my biography

I am a pianist, composer and producer based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I've studied jazzpiano at the Amsterdam conservatory of music, where I passed my final exam with honors in 1999. Since then I've been working as a sessionmusician with major artists in the Netherlands on stage, in the studio and on radio/tv. I've played major festivals around Europe, like North Sea Jazz and EBU jazz. Also I arrange and produce music for other artists and for national television. On this page you can find some tracks from my first album, which has just been released. It is a cinematic hybrid of musical styles, all connected to the various corners of my taste. Featuring some of the finest musicians in The Netherlands, including members of the Metropole orchestra and the Royal concertgebouw orchestra, the music is intended to serve both as a soundtrack to visuals, and as an imaginative experience on it's own. Hallo Marcus, hoe gaat het?
Lange tijd geleden, lijkt het, dat wij contact maakten. Ik ben begonnen om voor mijn 'oudere vrienden' te stemmen. Ik vind je muziek zo bijzonder dat ik de beide stukken een tien heb gegeven. Ik hoop dat je de tijd kunt vinden om weer naar mijn muziek te luisteren en ook voor mij te stemmen. Dat zou ik erg waarderen…

Ik zit in een heel andere hoek maar ben toch wel trots op de eerste nummers van mijn nieuwe cd. Deze week week 3 van de opnames.
