my biography

In late 1970 I took a train from a small town to a big city and so started an adventure which still goes on.

Over the ensuing years I plugged in guitars, sang loudly, moved faders and took the money.

Today I compose for people who care about what they say and how they say it and who make films to die for.

Title: Hair Conditions

Description: Every time I look in the mirror I count myself so lucky to have saved so much on combs and hairbrushes

Title: Coping with existence

Description: My Grandfather always believed that his Mother had adopted him as he could not accept he could have been born into such a stupid family. He died after being run over by a runnaway horse and cart that was delivering the milk.

Title: Emperors Path

Description: I believe we all strive to be Kings and Emperors and some are lucky to get there but most of us will have to be content with happiness

Title: Birds on Bamboo

Description: I was asked to work on some adult movies (composing I mean!!)and came up with this. They didn't use it. They said it was too slow! They obviously had not seen me in action!!

Title: Leigh Bowery's Dance

Description: Leigh Bowery was a great Australian performance artist and designer who aptly was born in a place called Sunshine and who died far too early in London at the age of 33

Hey Mr Detani, Leigh Bowery, theres a name I have not heard for a long long time, thanks for bringing back some very odd memories!!
Interesting all round, quite different from what I was expecting--actually no idea what to expect from you but you know what I mean.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

The noise thing you mention is an interesting one although I cannot hear it on these tracks!
Why I say interesting is that I do at times get grounding problems in my studio caused by fluorescent lights in the building. However if I switch all my keyboards on and off it goes away! I think there's a spook somewhere here trying to tell me something!!

This is a real nice surprise and thanks for the pm!
What a pity that you can upload only five songs maximum. This is your normal "weekly" output, isn´t it? ;-)
The five songs here are overall very movielike and I would say very RT, sorry "Detani" style/sound. My favorates: Birds on Bamboo
and Leigh Bowery´s dance. Nice ones.
Hey, and one question I always wanted to ask: All your tracks seem to have a 2 or 3 second just noise/hum intro. Any special reason for it? Just curious.

Well now, this is a very pleasant surprise. Thanks for finding me and letting me know you have a home here.
After your description of "birds on bamboo", I was a bit surprised to realize it's my favourite. Really love the track.
And I admire the hell out of things like what you do in "leigh bowery" at 2:50 on - I don't _love_ it, but boyo do I respect it for being so unapologetic about being just the way you want it.

I was always intrigue by this kind of compositions and feel of music.
