my biography

Hello there
Well what can I say........
I was born a cameraman/editor/director about 10 years ago, working mostly in news and documentary when after cutting countless of videos to other peoples music I decided to record my own.
I have to tell you...... I'm no 'musician' but I love the mix of visual and sound and the contempory software tools allow me to do just that.
I have been at this for about a year now and I'm sure that can be heard in the music mix but I am happy. Who knows what I will sound like in five years.................

If you have the time and inclination then have a look at my show reel

Sorry if that was too depressing. On a lighter note.....the people of Grado (my new home) celebrate Santiago y Santana. The water was originaly ment to stop them from singing on the streets after drinking all night..... Viva Espana!

Hi Flaw from Spain, how are you today? Thanks for your Mi7 friendship. I'm doing my rounds of listening and voting for the RWS contest. I like your music and 'Boxing Clever' appeals to me very much. Because you're not in the contest I can only ask you to listen to my songs and hopefully vote for me if you like them. Thank you…
Success and best wishes from the low lands of Holland,
Richard

Hi Gavin,

thank you for your comment and vote.
I am pleased to hear that the girl in your showreel is doing better now. The image is still on my mind...
Your documentary work seems impressive and I like the new music tracks even better than the first one you posted. You're a talented man!

Hi Gavin,
I enjoyed your track here, I hope there will be more.

I watched your showreel. Impressive stuff, I showed it to my teenage daughter. I hope she'll never do drugs.

best wishes,

Hi Flaw.
Thank you for taking the time to listen and your kind words.
My setup is nothing spectacular, it`s just an ordinary PC with an older version of WaveLab, but I`ve put a lot of trial-and-error into filtering and compressing the mix.

Oh yes, the Philip Glass influence is there, no doubt about that (didn`t he make an album or a song called the photographer?). I agree, happiness is the most important ingrediens in musicmaking. I know a lot of people are in it for the fame and the money, but I for one am in it for the happiness (and frustration) of creating. Keep on making music and keep on being happy about it.

Hi Flaw, Thanks for adding me and thanks very much about your nice and funny comment on Ethno Alien. Well the lyrics are from Rene Lenting of Dive you should check out his music as well he is a genious. I love your Palladian House and would also like to see the video - Greets from Duesseldorf Germany mate.

Wow, heavy job you have, then. Thank you for the compliment. I've been listening to the piece of music you have here and it's quite hypnotic. Makes me curious about the images that go with it...

Good luck in developing your musical skills!

Your initation can only be valid among friends. Hereby formely requested.

Asturias (the original) is a very special track to my brother in law, who lived in Spain many years. He challanged me to remake Asturias, which in his opinion was impossible. He's quit content with the result though (and lost his bet too).

Hope to hear more work of you soon.
Kind regards, Tom
