I'm Matt, I'm 18 and I have a Pro Tools LE and MBox 2 set up with Tannoy monitors for home recordings. I play keyboard and piano, electric and acoustic guitar, and sing.
I've been taught the piano for 11 years now, been singing for 7 but less seriously, and guitar for 4.
Piano training started as classical, recently progressed to jazz, but have always played more poppy genres when growing up like doing Billy Joel covers. I've played in Jazz Funk jam bands live on the keyboard, as well as the dreaded classical recitals.
I'm currently finishing Alevels in Physics and Maths at Truro College.
I'm currently involved in two main music projects, being Behind City Lights (the first 3 songs featured on here), and a reggae, Satori-esque band called Sonny Hours.
The tracks on here we recorded in London at a studio called Stakeout. Although the mix is solid, the tracks weren't how we wanted them. We also feel we have a stronger track with alot of potential which we are saving up to record whenever we can at a decent studio.
I saw the ad for the competition in Future Music magazine to win a recording session, so thought I'd become a member on here.
I wasn't sure which tracks to upload, Behind City Light's, Sonny Hours, or some of my own tracks, but felt that BCL's tracks had the most potential to land in the charts compared to my other more experimental projects, and therefore put those up. If anyone thinks I should put others up please let me know.
Hope you like what you here, if not the music or genre then perhaps recognise the potential for it to be popular after the right exposure.
Cheers for reading, and hopefully listening!
Matt
