Oslo, Hovseter Norway
August 2004, a heatwave in Oslo is draining everyone of energy, but 3 young boys are hanging out with friends at a train station, 2 of them are about to meet and become very good friends. A couple of weeks earlier founding member William Morris and Sebastian Wig started talking about forming their own punk band. After talking to another friend Morris, Sebastian found new bassist Skippy, with Morris on Guitar/VOX and Sebastian on guitar. Now all they needed was a drummer. Then on one hot day in August Sebastian introduced Morris to Jens Rief. Morris asked Rief to join and the rest is history. In the following months the band had great progression, and was becoming tighter and tighter as time went by, the backbone of the band was Morris and Rief, and if one of the two were missing, there was no practice, although if one of the other members were gone, there would still be practice. The band started writing music very early on, but nothing solid was ever recorded, and the songs were lost, after the band was having trouble with members showing up, and motivation to continue. The band needed a change. Moving away from the basement of a library at Høvik, the band moved to the room they recide in to this day, Hovseter Club. This is where things really started taking place, although guitarist Sebastian was showing up less and less, and when actually showing up was either hungover or late. Usually both, but the band was realising they were onto something when they started writing music together. After a while, there were several arguments and at one point the band was faced with the ultimatum of choosing between Morris and Sebastian. Eventually Sebastian left and the band continued as a trio. The band continued as a trio until May 2006 when new guitarist Victor Domingo joined the band. Victor is a very talented guitarist, and influenced the band with blues soloes and shredding guitar, something the band had never incorporated in their music before. Shows were played, songs were written and in 2007 shortly after recording their first demo Skippy announced he had to leave the band because of personal issues. The band continued and went on a search for a new bassist. Many were tried and failed, because it seems Oslo has an incredible lack of bassists, and the ones that exist are complete freaks. They eventually found bassist Mathias Herud. Matt also brought his own influences into the band, prefering a more "metal" approach to music. The guys are now 16 and 17 years old. And there you have the new blend of Punk/Rock/Metal/Alt. that is Bad Vigilantes, a band that is guaranteed to show you a type of music that you have never heard before.
