Playing an almost cabaret blend of blues, funk, rock and something not quite defineable, Eon Automatic have been entertaining audiences all over Melbourne for several years now. Able to equally stir both the bohemian crowd of Ruby's Lounge in Belgrave and the rock lovers who frequent Ding Dong in Melbourne with their music, they possess the rare gift of getting any crowd up and dancing. And truth be told, when the enigmatic Erica stands at front of the stage in her suspenders and ruby lipstick telling people to get up and shake it, who can say no?
Boundless energy, crazy dancing and a little bit of flirting accompanies oddly poetic lyrics of lust, love, longing and even going-through-rubbish-bins-at-night levels of stalking. At the centre of each song is Erica's stunning voice - thick with the blues and shimmering with jazz vibrato. She is surrounded by the funky 80's cheese inspired keyboards of Russ and backed up by Dan and Don's collectively groovy rhythm. And if all else fails then Erica will just dance a little harder and hitch her skirt up a little higher.
