Immersive. Bombastic. Epic.
Three words that put Unwritten Pages first release, "Noah", in perspective; and a nutshell for that matter.
Pushing the idea of 100% creative control forward, German/Dutch composer Fred Epe has written 15 songs of unprecedented variety and gathered some of the best musicians around him to add their very own flavours to the music and to turn Noah into an album true to the Unwritten Pages philosophy, which is all about new exciting ideas, excellent songwriting and pretty much anything that counters the word stagnation.
On Unwritten Pages' first release, established musicians such as Karl Groom (producer/engineer at Thin Ice Studios and guitarist for Threshold) and singer/songwriter Damian Wilson (now touring with Threshold again after a decade) joined the project. Also teaming-up with Fred Epe are Davy Mickers on drums (Arjen Lucassen's Stream of Passion) and Mexican singer/songwriter Alejandro Millan (Hello Madness, ex-Stream of Passion), among many others.
Be it bone-crushing riffs, be it soothing ambient, be it immersive soundtrack music, be it epic classic or be it grinding industrial; if it sounds intriguing, powerful and immersive, chances are you will find it as you progress through the world that is Unwritten Pages.
Lots of heavy, industrial and ambient stuff ... but also things beyond music - David Lynch has always been a great source of inspiration for Fred.
