Just read an article about a severe world-wide shortage of hops (used for making most beers, especially India Pale Ales). The shortage is so severe that it may drive many micro breweries out of business. Apparently many hop farmers are switching over to growing corn instead due to the increased demand for ethanol. One individual who ran a small micro-brewery stated that before the shortage a typical batch of beer would cost him $75 U.S. dollars. Now it's costing him $300! Being a beer lover this is mighty scary!
