Øya festival and the end of another vacation
I can`t remember the last time summer in Norway meant sun, nice weather, and bucket-loads of it in the summer month of July. Went to the yearly Oslo music festival called Øya Festivalen yesterday, and saw a cool new band worth checking out if you`re into "americana"-type of music. Check out american band Okkervil River.

The Quart Festival is bankrupt, and the festival is canceled!
The Quart Festival have been around since the early 90´s, but after "head honcho" Toffen left Quart to start up the new, competing Hove Festival last year, rumors and speculations has been going around how long Quart will manage to survive. Yesterday marked the end of more than 15 years of great concerts in Kristiansand when the Quart festival decide to file for chapter 11. Read more here.
Festival frenzy. Hove, Quart, and a whole bunch more

Hove had it´s very first festival last year, and I unfortunately missed out (1 hour late) on Arcade Fire, but saw a kick-ass concert by The Killers, Bright Eyes and a few more. This year Hove looks equally good (23-27th June). The "original" Quart festival starts 2nd until 5th of July, but this year I´ll be in London and will check out the only "big city festival" left in the UK, the 02 Wireless festival in London´s Hyde Park (3rd- 6th of July).

TeamViewer - free desktop sharing! Great for support!

As any Mac user running OS 10.5 (Leopard), the new "share screen" option in iChat is a great way to show someone how to do any task on their computer via remote-controlling their desktop from you own Mac.

Now TeamViewer will let PC (and Mac) users do the same. And the best part is that it´s free (as long as you use it as private user). Tech-support has never been easier! Download TeamViewer here.

A new way to fight off spam-bots?

Does the word "captcha" mean anything to you? Sure it does, it´s the blurred letters and numbers to prevent evil spam-bots from taking over the world. Now someone had taken this to a potentially new level by introducing the noble human excerise of sarcasm to confuse spam-bots. Read more about it here.

Microhoo.... a second attempt but a different approach
For anyone slightly interested in the major changes in our digital world, the news of Yahoo refusing Microsoft`s rather generous offer ($ 32 per Yahoo share) that the board at Yahoo kindly refused (they wanted $ 37 per share) has been a hard one to miss. Microsoft (never been used to accepting defeat) now tries a different approach... as a more equel partner. Read more here.
AES in Amsterdam
The AES shows are getting smaller and smaller every year. One hall, booths half the size (or smaller) than at Frankfurt Musikmesse, but lots of nice people as usual... And Amsterdam is alway a fun city to visit. Had some great oysters on Friday, and dinner at the Supperclub Cruise on Saturday following a visit to Club 11 with cool house music until 04:00 in the morning.
