Someone decided to trash the one part of Windows that was usable? The file system is no longer usable. The registry is not usable. This program listing was one sane place but now it is all crapped up. ...The lack of attention to usability represented by these experiences blows my mind. I thought we had reached a low with Windows Network places or the messages I get when I try to use 802.11. (don't you just love that root certificate message?)Now you're thinking "oh God, another Linux zealot going off about Windows"... until you see who wrote it: Bill Gates. Full story at Gizmodo Note: this is actually an old story about Windows XP. Vista, as we all know by now, is even worse. read more...
I haven't been posting much in the past couple of months, mainly because I've been taking time to work on a new book and get some personal business stuff out of the way.
Things are looking interesting though... we've been approached about a new record deal, and asked to play some more festivals at the end of the year / beginning of next year. So the plan is to spend as much time as possible in the studio over the next few months and finally finish off all of the things that have been sitting on the hard drive for ages in a half-finished state.
So someday soon I might even get round to putting some new songs on the music player! :-)

I'm very excited to be able to tell you all May 26 is the date set for release of Calendargirl's album... featuring me (of course), and several other MI7 members- please support it; it not only means exposure for lesser-known artists like myself, but a better way for talented people to get their music heard by a wider audience, who might not have other avenues for exposure.
THINK about artists you may love today, that you might never have heard, except through chance- don't you deserve a better opportunity, than some happenstance random discovery?
Artists like Calendargirl (Tamara Barnett-Herrin) and others of us who are looking toward the future think so... join us, and let's look forward toward a musical future based more on what's possible, rather than what's permitted!

I was lucky to get a chance to work on another original track by rocha here at MI7 (community.mi7.com/profile/1463), and this is the result.

Here's the link and teaser to an interview I've conducted on behalf of ccMixter with the talented, intelligent, gracious and funny Calendar Girl:
"In October 2006, singer song-writer Tamara Barnett-Herrin from London in the UK published a one sentence challenge to herself and to remixers around the World Wide Web: “I write one song a month. You remix and feedback. We make a record.” This experiment in songwriting and remix culture unlike any other yielded over 300 remixes, setting a new record at ccMixter. Twelve of them have been chosen to be published in an album titled Calendar Songs Volume I due out May 26 (check calendarsongs.com). Known to the ccMixter community as Calendar Girl, she has graciously agreed to an interview with ccMixter."
