Ignatz Hesitates (the mi7 song)
Ignatz
just a little 6/4 ditty I came up with as a sort of quasi-humorous musical "thanks" to the fine folks here at mi7, and a nod to all the '70's fusion records I discovered in my early teens...
Spit Shine Boy (sadder but wiser mix)
Spitshineboy
Here's yet another calendargirl remix from ccmixter, A fairly straightforward interpretation of "July"; a little swing, basic drums, bass, piano, with a soft voice pad. I wanted to showcase the disgusted tiredness and regret depicted by the lyrics, and let her lovely voice carry the song, so I just tried to find some good harmonies, and keep it basic.
Acoustic Sunset ("Leaving orbit" mix)
Sunset3
Another remix, built around "12-string guitar riff (from Tanto)" by Klaus Neumaier from ccmixter (who I expect to see around here someday), also using "Cheer.wav" by acclivity (freesound); slow tempo, outdoor-concert feel, evokes a sort of bittersweet yet majestic feeling, the orange-purple clouds of a summer sunset...
Falling To The Grass
Fallingttg
This is a remix I did of "Chlorophyll" by c.layne over on ccmixter. Droney, swirly, I innterpeted it as a sound-portrait of times when loss, alienation, numbness and wonderment all combine in the same internal moment, while the great circles of the wide world keep turning...
You Can't Deny
Ycd
Me playing MC as well as having made and remixed the beat, which was originally made for a remix on ccmixter ("ninedeeninefurcent noise"). Old-school beat, with ambient b/g and old 78-rpm public domain samples. I uploaded this previously, but I wanted to re-master it after being able to hear it through the speakers rather than just headphones, TheJoe also noted the vocal track is 180 degrees out of phase, (but I like the idea of hitting "mono" and hearing an instrumental version ;D after all, what if you get tired of hearing my voice, and want to flow to the beat yourself?) Anyway, I thought mi7 might have a "replace file" function in the "edit song" section, but no... so I just deleted version #1, and replaced it.
