"A great melody!"

- It's that kind of season...

- This one is for all you my friends who are listening. It's december, X-mas is around the corner... So I composed this very silly but joyful piece of music, with every possible cliché I could think of mixed with my own style. Enjoy! I hope I can put a smile on your face with this one! And Merry X-mas to you all!

- When I compose music, I always tries to come up with a killer melody. A strong melody that captures the feeling in the piece, a melody easy remembered, a melody that can tell a story on its own, a melody that creates feelings and images beyond the piece (not easy of course). Then I try to mold the arrangement around that melody. When producing some kind of demo, I simply play this melody in different arrangements trying to find what’s right for this tune. This is such a demo. In this piece, I’ve found one of my all time favorite melodies, but I cant really decide what shape it should take. In this shape its almost celtic and medieval. Please let me know what you think! I’ve also got problems with the track title. Suggestions anyone?

- Three Pieces for Solo Piano: "Untitled Melody"/Remembrance/Twilight
-
-
-
- Just me playing piano! Playing solo piano is liberating and terrifying at the same time. There’s no effects or any other manipulation of the sound or instruments, you can’t hide! Its just me playing piano. This is actually three different pieces put together as a way to display more music, but after repeated listens and many positive comments (thank you, I’m very happy!!!), the pieces kind of merged together into one piece. And by now, I can hardly imagine the pieces to exist seperatly. The first part is a result of one little moment, one improvisation. I was sitting by my keyboard, improvising and found this lovely little melody. I had to record it. The second part, starting at about 1:17, is the only piece of music by me NOT composed during 2008. “Remembrance” is a tune I probably have been humming in my head for at least 15 years. And when I bought my keyboard, the music just played as if I always knew how to play it. The third part, starting at 4:28, is based on improvisation as well and I will never be able to write down the notes… Its called “Twilight” and its more “classical” sounding than anything I’ve done before. So, its actually three very diffrent pieces but I think they get along very well in this presentation.
- Trains!

- As a kid I was fascinated by trains (along with Star Wars and dinosaurs, of course). Now, thirty or so years later, I finally have the possibility to make music. Why not make a piece for trains? So this is my homeage to all the trains in the world! Most parts are improvised but I’m fond of the piece, especially the “happy moment” beginning at about 2:47 and when the main hammering motif returns at about 4:06. I had such fun doing this, the music coming straight from my heart, maybe I’ll expand my “train music” into a longer and more worked-through piece some day. Like trains could go on forever, I could do variations on this "train music" forever. The piece is finished with an fun expansion of the "Happy Moment/Jolly Express" material in the Trains-suite.
