Mi7 COLLABORATION WITH ARTI

Hey all,  take a look over at Arti's page.  Many moons ago I had the nerve to ask him if he had any vocal bits lying around that he wouldnt mind offering up to me to play around with.  I can make a sound out of almost anything but singing just isnt for me, plus I thought it might be fun for me to tackle something a tad different.  He sent me over the vocal tracks for Rain.

Well to be honest I kind of got a bit stuck in terms of ideas and also chose a bad time for me as I couldnt give the track the time both it and Artie deserved (lifes been a bit busy lately).  I sent what tracks I had over to him,  it was ok but I wouldnt exactly call it a finished song.  He went to work and re arranged, added, bought in a guitar element (Laurence Whiteley, UK guitarist and music producer) did his Arti thing and you can now hear the results.  Im blown away by what he did with what I gave him and very glad to be able to have worked with him in such an amazing way,  aint the internet great!

Title is Rain.

hear it at http://community2.mi7.com/profile/5570

thanks to Arti, just a nice guy, patient with a wicked sense of humour and very multi talented.

Today I recommend: listening to Rain and letting Artie know what you think

I agree with you, audiotechnica. Absolutely. The nerve of some people, to ask others for vocal bits! And then ... AND THEN, praise them for the outcome. I mean, the NERVE of some people. I mean, REALLY!!! ... Whachoo talking about, AT?
Seriously though, this collaboration/networking feature is the main reason I love Mi7; Forget the “3 days in a studio (if you’re lucky, the engineer may remember your name by the 3rd day and perhaps you’ll get some vocals down or your backing track tweaked on the low end)/I voted for you will you vote for me?” nonsense, THIS music collab across the internet is just F***in’ Fab ... right? I mean, I got to work with someone on the other side of the planet, who added another dimension to an idea I had and whose music I really like ... “erhm, that would be you, audiotechnica. Time to put away that self effacing side of yours, and take a bow.” Don’t forget, Dear Mi7’ers, that piece of (b)ass tearing up the grooves @ 2:33 mins/the drum twiddles @ 07 & 26 secs/the misty, space-y keys throughout are not the property of me or Mr. Whiteley, but the very wonderful audiotechnica; what he did breathed new life into an idea I had given up on.
We all did it, I just so happened to give it my nudge in the final analysis. Onwards.
