Hello There

Just a few comments about equipment and sound. At present I have the following acoustic instruments: Epiphone EJ-300, Epiphone Hummingbird, Yamaha 12-string, classical 6-string, Rogue A-style mandolin, Rogue 5-string banjo, May-Bell tenor (short scale) banjo, Regal dobro, Oscar Schmidt autoharp, an old Italian accordion, and a Scholer concertina. For electric instruments I have a Rogue violin-style bass guitar (Hofner copy) and a Fender Deluxe Player's Stratocaster; the signal chain being in order: volume pedal, compessor/sustainer, Crybaby wah pedal, Tube Screamer, Super Chorus, Digital Delay, then out to a Fender Priceton 65 with one 12" speaker. I am saving up to get a pair of Super Reverbs.

Except for "Circles On The Water", the tunes that are posted here are 5th generation cassetes that my Dad recorded onto CD using Roxio, then these were changed from WAV format into MP3's using Realplayer. Decidely low-tech, I know. In the near future I will be able to record digitally which will improve the sound quality. In the meantime I hope you enjoy these song sketches for what they are.

Thanks to my son James for hooking me up with MI7, it haas been real interesting to see and hear all the different music out there.

Looking to eventually get back into playing out again, anybody with any input for this let me know. That's about it for now, more to follow.---JDD.
